Katsa is a Graceling, born with an ability that leaves others quaking in her presence. Used by her uncle, the king, to instill fear in anyone who dares defy him, Katsa is torn by the savage nature of her Grace and her disgust at the cruelty of her acts for the king. To add to her torment, she meets Prince Po who stirs feelings in Katsa she has never experienced is her young life. Kristin Cashore combines violence, passion, kindess and romance in a story that leaves you spellbound to the last page! Read Graceling by Kristing Cashore.

Writing Secrets Revealed

I just returned from the Texas Library Association convention in San Antonio. We listened to inspirational speakers, other librarians sharing their programs and ideas, storytellers spinning a yarn and authors revealing their writing secrets. And you know what? There really is no secret to great writing. Those authors struggle for ideas and agonize over revisions just like you do when asked to do a writing assignment. They all say the same thing - don't give up. Stay with it. Have others read your work and make suggestions. Look for ideas in the simple details of everyday life. And most of all - read! Read, read, read. Those are the great "secrets" of becoming a great writer. And if they can do it, you can, too!
